월드푸드테크포럼 2025의 개막 행사에서는
〈아날로그 방식으로 전송된 점〉과 〈메이드 인 코리아: 물·불·바람·계승자〉를 출발점으로 한 오프닝 퍼포먼스가 진행되었다.
이 퍼포먼스는 〈메이드 인 코리아: 물·불·바람·계승자〉 작업을 통해 직접 제작된 한지, 먹, 활을 사용해 활을 쏘는 행위로 구성되었다. 디지털 기술이 지배적인 동시대의 환경 속에서, 정보 전달의 가장 원초적인 형식을 다시 호출하는 방식이다.
두 작품은 인공지능이라는 혁신 기술을 마주한 현시대에서 정보란 무엇이며, 그것이 어떤 방식으로 전달되어 왔는지를 근원적으로 질문해왔다. 정보 전달의 방식이 인류의 삶과 감각, 사회의 구조를 어떻게 변화시켜 왔는지를 되짚으며, 기술의 형태는 달라졌지만 여전히 유효한 그 기원을 탐구하는 작업이다.
급속도로 진화하는 기술 환경 속에서 이 퍼포먼스는 속도와 효율, 자동화로 대표되는 기술의 외형 너머를 응시한다. 화려한 기술적 진보 이전에, 기술이 출발했던 지점—인간의 생존과 삶의 지속, 그리고 공동의 안녕—이라는 본질에 다시 시선을 돌리게 한다.
“Food Tech for All”이라는 포럼의 주제 아래 제시된 이 퍼포먼스는, 푸드테크 산업에 적용되는 다양한 혁신 기술들이 결국 특정 시스템이나 효율을 넘어, 모든 인간을 위한 방향으로 작동해야 한다는 문제의식을 담고 있다. 기술의 미래를 논하는 자리에서, 그 시작점과 목적을 다시 묻는 하나의 상징적 장면으로 제안되었다.
As part of the opening program of World Food Tech Forum 2025, an opening performance was presented based on Dots Transmitted Analog and Made in Korea: Water·Fire·Wind·Heir.
The performance was composed around the act of shooting an arrow using hanji paper, ink, and a bow produced through Made in Korea: Water·Fire·Wind·Heir. Within a contemporary environment dominated by digital technologies, this gesture recalls a primordial form of information transmission through physical action.
Both works have consistently questioned what information is and how it has been transmitted, particularly in an era shaped by artificial intelligence and advanced technological systems. By tracing the evolution of information—from its earliest material forms to contemporary digital infrastructures—the project reflects on how modes of transmission have continuously reshaped human life, perception, and social structures, while sharing a common origin despite their changing forms.
Amid rapidly accelerating technological innovation, the performance shifts attention away from spectacle and efficiency toward the underlying conditions of technology itself. It gestures back to the point at which technology begins—not as an instrument of optimization, but as a means grounded in human survival, continuity, and collective well-being.
Presented under the theme Food Tech for All, the performance proposes that the diverse and advanced technologies shaping the future of the food-tech industry should ultimately function not merely as systems of innovation, but as pathways oriented toward the welfare of all. Within a forum dedicated to envisioning technological futures, the work offers a moment that reconsiders the origin and purpose of technology itself.
