Bot Bot Bot
로봇으로 운영되는 카페 Bot Bot Bot은 인간과 로봇이 협업하는 방식을 실험하는 공간이다. 과학 도시 대전의 신세계백화점 개점에 맞춰 로봇 카페 공간 콘셉트 제안을 받아, 공간 구성과 로봇 동선, 가구 및 집기 전반의 디자인을 맡아 진행했다.
비교적 컴팩트한 규모의 공간을 벽면을 완만한 곡선으로 굴리는 방식으로 재구성했다. 직선적 경계를 최소화한 곡면 벽은 시각적 깊이와 연속성을 만들어내며, 한정된 공간 안에서도 흐름과 여유를 형성한다. 이 곡면 벽면에는 정선의 〈금강전도〉에서 모티브를 얻은 산수 드로잉을 설치했고, 그 앞에는 로봇 키친 아일랜드를 배치했다.
이 공간은 로봇과 카페라는 기술적·상업적 콘텍스트가 전통 산수의 선적 감각과 어떻게 결합할 수 있는지를 탐구하는 실험의 장이다. 곡선으로 처리된 벽면과 산수 드로잉의 라인은 로봇의 움직임과 시각적으로 호응하며, 기술과 전통, 기능과 이미지가 하나의 감각적 풍경 안에서 공존하도록 구성했다.
Bot Bot Bot is an experimental café that explores modes of collaboration between humans and robots. Developed in conjunction with the opening of Shinsegae Department Store in Daejeon, a science-oriented city, the project involved the overall design of the space, including spatial organization, robot circulation, furniture, and custom fixtures.
The relatively compact interior was reconfigured by shaping the walls into gentle curves. By minimizing rigid, straight boundaries, the curved surfaces create visual depth and continuity, allowing a sense of flow and openness to emerge within a limited area. Along these curved walls, a landscape drawing inspired by Jeong Seon’s Geumgang Jeondo was installed, with a robotic kitchen island positioned in front.
The space serves as an experimental field where the technological and commercial context of robotics and café culture intersects with the linear sensibility of traditional Korean landscape painting. The curved walls and the lines of the landscape drawing visually resonate with the movements of the robots, composing an environment in which technology and tradition, function and image, coexist within a single sensory landscape.
